Building on fifty years of inquiry-driven science, we inspire wonder and inform stewardship of rivers in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.

Decades of data, discovery, and dedication, are key to shaping a more sustainable tomorrow.

Rocky Mountain Rivers is a new organization, but our work builds on over 50 years of science that supports non-consumptive water rights protecting Colorado River headwaters. We are dedicated to continuing this legacy of scientific discovery and stewardship, while fostering more connections among the vibrant communities that contribute to and benefit from clean, protected water.

A confluence of community, curiosity, and conservation

Beyond scientific research, Rocky Mountain Rivers advances stream stewardship by fostering meaningful mentorship opportunities, educational programming, and community engagement. By uniting knowledge, advocacy, and community, we work to ensure that the rivers that sustain us today will thrive for generations to come.

We are reflecting on a rich history of collecting data that matters to ask: what should we do with a scientific legacy that could change the future?

Join us in this new era of an enduring purpose, because now more than ever, protecting our waters takes all of us.
